The War Against Free Speech

The uproar over the recent takeover purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk should make every American take notice.  Whether you are a Twitter user or never gave it a second thought; the fact is Twitter has been well known for canceling free speech or speech that does not agree with their agenda.  Twitter has had a bias and that bias has infiltrated the free use of the platform by users and limited any discussion of matters Twitter has decided are “misinformation”.  I am not speaking about users posting any illegal things already forbidden by FCC regulation but rather opinions of speech that Twitter and their incorporated “algorithms” deemed as misinformation based on their definition of the word.  They shadow banned if not outright cancelled speech which questioned their agenda.  Twitter became a platform for a one-sided narrative that the social media giant could promote as the opinion of the majority. 

During the 2020 election, they suspended the account of the NY Post when they broke the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop shortly before the November 2020 Presidential election.  They deleted and cancelled accounts that tried to share this article and get it out to the public.  They clearly interfered with information that was relevant to the American people regarding one of the candidates on the ballot to be President of the United States.  The story they censored was recently cited as true by the NY 15 months later.  Perhaps Twitter was not confident their chosen candidate and agenda could win the 2020 election without their efforts of interference? 

After the election outcome and subsequent challenges by then President Trump, and the January 6th incident, Twitter decided to cancel Donald Trump from the platform.  Fences went up around the White House before the January 20th Inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th President amidst an on-going pandemic and uncertainty in America.

Twitter picked one side and highlighted their obvious bias and agenda in a divided country with no regard for the rights of Freedom and freedom of speech for all.

Fast forward to recent times, Elon Musk took the bold move to purchase the platform in the name of Free Speech and the right of citizens of this country to express it openly. Just as the recent launch of Trump’s social media experiment Truth Social is coming to fruition, Elon Musk comes to the rescue of the once predominant public square of social media to say, it’s time to restore Twitter to a platform that represents and actually accepts and allows the basic right of Free Speech; so as to let users express their opinions freely and openly without the fear of censorship.  One would think all Americans would agree that Free Speech should be supported, yet many feel it is a threat.  Those who feel threatened by Free Speech and express their feelings of disappointment regarding Elon Musk’s intentions to return Twitter to the people/users should be questioned as to why Free Speech compared to controlled information is more favorable.  Those favoring a society with a one-sided forced Orwellian narrative and mandates that all comply with it would be clearly in dissent to a narrative of Free Speech on Twitter or any other Mass media communication source.  They want a divided society of Elites who get to speak and Peasants who are forced into servitude and silence.

My thanks to the brilliant billionaire Elon Musk for taking a stand with his pocket book for common sense and yes the Constitutional rights of Americans including users of Twitter to have their God-given right to free speech.  I anxiously await his leadership of the platform going forward.  I hope he is prepared to face the subsequent challenges that may await regarding hosting services and other corrupt forces that are prepared to stand in the way of Free Speech.  He has succeeded in opening Pandora’s box for all of us to observe the actions of.  He has succeeded in putting on display the bad actors who are engaged in silencing Free Speech in social media today.  A brilliant move by Elon Musk which sparks curiosity in the rest of the game that follows.
